Acura Announces Pricing for 2000 3.2TL and Integra
TORRANCE, Calif. (September 20, 1999) - Acura announced today
the 2000 model year prices for two of its most popular models, the 3.2TL performance
luxury sedan and the Integra series of Sports Coupes and Sports Sedans.
The MSRP for the 2000 3.2TL is $28,400, a $450 (1.6%) increase versus last year due to
significant additions and enhancements in the areas safety, performance and technology.
The 2000 TL adds an advanced side air bag system which incorporates seven sensors in the
passenger seatback to determine the size and position of the occupant and assists the
system in determining if it is safe to deploy the side air bag. This Acura exclusive side
air bag system was engineered to reduce the potential for injuries to a small child from
the deployment of the side air bag itself.
The 2000 TL also adds an all-new, 5-speed SportShift automatic transmission in place of
last year's 4-speed, a new induction system design and several engine modifications that
provide improved mid-range power, quicker acceleration, better fuel economy and lower
vehicle emissions (LEV-49 state; ULEV-California).
In addition, the optional TL in-dash Acura Navigation System now features a new Digital
Video Disc (DVD) mapping database, providing coverage of the continental United States on
one DVD disc. These continued refinements to the 3.2TL will reinforce its position as one
of the fastest selling vehicles in Acura's 14 year history.
The popular Integra series returns for the 2000 model year, offering race-inspired
innovations, sporty, free-revving engine response, crisp precise handling and an ergonomic
driving environment. For 2000, the Acura Integra Sports Sedan and Sports Coupe models -
LS, GS, GS-R - increase a modest $100 (0.5%) in the MSRP from the year before. In
addition, the racing-tuned Integra Type R sports coupe returns for 2000 in limited numbers
for serious driving enthusiasts (Type R pricing to be announced at a later date).
For 2000, the Integra now features a standard vehicle immobilizer anti-theft system,
100,000 mile tune-up intervals, reduced emissions to meet strict Transitional Low Emission
Vehicle (TLEV) emission standards and an on-board Vapor Recovery System, one year earlier
than required by law. The 2000 model year 3.2TL and Integra, on sale now at authorized
Acura retailers, are covered by a comprehensive 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper
limited warranty. Additional ownership benefits include Acura Total Luxury Care (TLC),
which provides free 24-hour roadside assistance, concierge service and trip routing. For
