Acura MDX SUV review

The Acura MDX specs exhibit a unique technology-based approach to building vehicles, so designed to be the best luxury SUV in its class. To achieve unheard-of levels of performance and handling in an SUV is its primary mission. To that end, it was designed to perform precisely and with agility even when driven assertively. Heeding the advice of experts, we predict a sudden rush to Acura MDX dealers once people discover all the MDX has to offer.

Realizing that many SUV customers enjoy outdoor activities like camping, mountain biking, rock climbing and kayaking, the MDX is designed to perform exceptionally well in medium duty off-road applications. One of its other missions is to Defeat Winter and this Acura MDX review reinforces the message. That entailed designing one of the most advanced 4-wheel drive systems on the market to give MDX exceptional traction on wet or snowy pavement. And You don't need to be Acura MDX experts to see that this SUV is a winner.

The engine of the Acura MDX also boasts class-leading fuel efficiency, thanks to Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control, efficient swirl-chamber combustion, Programmed Fuel Injection, and a drive-by-wire throttle control. The improved Acura MDX thus offers a beefed-up 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that, in and of itself, is a force to be reckoned with. This engine produces a class-leading 260 horsepower at high rpm while churning out impressive torque that comes peaks at 250 lbs, so drivers can accelerate quickly to highway speeds with exhilarating responsiveness. A new close-coupled catalyzer mounted closer to the engine also helps reduce emissions, making the durable Acura MDX one of the best SUVs for the environment it is designed to conquer.

Joe-
My friend has an MDX and we have taken it to the dunes here in Oceano a few times. Obviously we didn't go tear it up on the actual dunes, but it handles driving onto and down the beach fine, with the full-time AWD.
I think hers is a 2006?

Great review on the Acura MDX. I rarely have seen off-road comments on the MDX - THANK YOU VERY MUCH. For further clarification, was the MDX tested on a beach to see its capability in soft beach sand and the tire ruts that typically develop? I am very interested in the MDX but plan to beach it several times a year and want to ensure the MDX can handle the conditions. Thank you.
